bride Sienna face their biggest challenge to date. Called back for duty in
World War II, Drake must leave his amazing life behind and join his troop to

unknown enemies.
Lured from her prosperous island by a sorcerer
who is convinced she was always meant to be his bride. Sienna is challenged to
play three magical games to ensure her husband’s safe return. In each game, a

Spotlight: Remember This by Kenya Carlton
Remember This Blurb:
Ex-ballerina
turned rehab designer Cece Newman competes in a reality show that could give
her fledgling company the boost that it needs. Assigned a relic of a house in a
renovation challenge, Cece soon becomes suspicious of the producer’s
intentions. When she finds the house is
one of many properties her ex-fiancé and baby daddy Brock Thorn owns, Cece is
convinced that she is being set up for failure.
Ready to drop the project and what’s left of her career, Cece has to
find a way to ignore the handsome athlete while she navigates around his kooky
family. Cece must also convince their
daughter that mommy and daddy won’t be getting back together again, a job
easier said than done—especially when the attraction between the two is hotter
than ever.
The biggest hit
Brock Thorn took on or off the field occurred when Cece Newman left him at the
altar. Five years later, Brock is more determined than ever to get answers from
his baby’s momma. Even in regards to joint custody of their daughter, Brock’s
only form of contact with Cece is through her loving, protective sister Lily.
Brock packs up his high profile life and digs his heels in at the crappy house
he’s inherited—the very one Cece is set to renovate. As he dodges cameras and uninvited family
members, Brock must get to the bottom of his failed romance with
Cece—especially if he has any chance of getting back the life that was lost
when Cece left.

Spotlight: Luck of the Dragon by Susannah Scott
Luciana
de Luca has a PhD in sass and gemology—and a problem. Her twin brother’s
gambling debts have gotten out of hand, and a mob enforcer is blackmailing her
to rob the latest, greatest mega-casino on the Strip. Although Lucy has worked
her whole life to get away from her family’s grifter past, to save her brother,
she dons three-inch heels and a sluts-r-us dress and struts into Alec’s
Gerald’s casino, determined to put her long-forgotten thieving ways to the test
again.
Alec
Gerald, a shape-shifting dragon, has built the Crown Jewel casino to provide
sanctuary for his people amongst the flash and awe of Las Vegas. Unfortunately,
the sexy little thief trying to rob his gem exhibit turns out to be his mate,
and he must woo her before he loses his dragon form forever. With enemies in
every corner, and the all-important mating ceremony looming, Alec and Lucy must
learn to trust each other, before time runs out for Alec and the rest of the
dragons.
Susannah Scott lives in the Missouri Ozarks and is the lone
female in a very loud household of males ranging in age from 4 to 40. While she
jokes that the extreme levels of testosterone inspired her to write romance, it
is really the love of creating an excellent story, and the occasional dreams of
twenty-foot dragons, that wake her and send her to the laptop before the chaos
of daily life ensues. Susannah loves to hear from her readers at the following

Tour: Dream Child by JJ DiBenedetto - spotlight
About Dream Child:
"I would give anything to take this away
from her. I would gladly go back to having the nightmares myself – the
very worst ones, the ones that had me waking up screaming in a pool of my own
vomit – rather than see Lizzie go through this..."
As a resident at Children's Hospital,
Sara can handle ninety hour workweeks, fighting to save her young patients from
deadly childhood diseases. But she's about to be faced with a challenge
that all her training and experience haven't prepared her for: her
four-year-old daughter has inherited her ability to see other people's
dreams...
"Dream
Child" is the suspenseful third novel in the "Dreams" series.
About JJ DiBenedetto:
J.J. (James) DiBenedetto was born in
Yonkers, New York. He attended Case Western Reserve University, where as his
classmates can attest, he was a complete nerd. Very little has changed since
then.
He currently lives in Arlington, Virginia
with his beautiful wife and their cat (who has thoroughly trained them both).
When he's not writing, James works in the direct marketing field, enjoys the
opera, photography and the New York Giants, among other interests.
The "Dreams" series is James'
first published work.

Excerpt from Dream Child:
Pete whistles. “Wow,” he says to Lizzie. “An engineer and a doctor. You’ve got some pretty smart parents.” He laughs.
“I’m a Congressman. Do you know
what that is?”
Lizzie answers immediately. “We saw it today! That’s the big white building with the big
round top and the statue at the very tippy-top.”
“That’s where I work,” Pete agrees. “But do you know what we do there?”
Lizzie shakes her head. I’m sure she got a running commentary about
it from her grandmother, even if it probably all went in one ear and straight
out the other. “Didn’t Grandma Helen
tell you about it, when you were out today?”
“She said a lot of stuff,” Lizzie admits,
then she concentrates, trying to remember anything that Helen told her. Compared to ice-skating for the first time,
I’m not surprised that nothing else really stuck with Lizzie. But I’m wrong. “She said – she said – that’s where they tell
everybody in the whole country what to do.”
She fixes Pete with a very serious stare. “Is that your job? Do you tell everybody what to do?”
Pete grins.
“It’s a little bit more complicated than that.”
Lizzie has an immediate answer. “Com – com – comlickpated is what Mommy says
when I ask her and she doesn’t want to tell me something.” I look at Pete apologetically. I guess I’ve kind of raised a monster. On the other hand, she is sort of right. It’s my own fault - if I don’t want her
asking difficult questions, I shouldn’t bring her with me to the hospital.
“There’s no getting anything past you, is
there?” Pete says, still grinning. “Let
me explain it this way. Your parents
don’t tell you what to do every minute, but they make rules for you so you’ll
be safe, and healthy and so you can grow up the way you should. That’s kind of what the Congress does, except
for the whole country.”
Lizzie considers that. “Like no ice cream before dinner and no
running in the street and never ever ever ever touch the ox - oxy - oxygen
machine?”

Spotlight: Children of the Plague by Gregory Carrico
Hello, and welcome to my first stop in Children of the Plague Tour, Hosted by the awesome Penny from Around the Universe Tours. Today I have a spotlight with an excerpt, just to give a small taste of the awesome author Gregory Carrico. Later this month I will have a review up of Children of the Plague. Hope you enjoy!!
Children of the Plague:
In the darkest corners of lower
Manhattan, a battle like no other rages. The city is home to a hidden group of
survivors of the nanite plague, and a brother and sister born to defend their
race. With a touch that can destroy nanites, Lanni, sister of Alex, is their
last chance. Can she save her brother? Can she protect mankind's only hope? Or
will she be responsible for the destruction of the last humans on earth? It's
going to be another long day...
About Greg:
Gregory Carrico is a former dental practice
management consultant and software trainer. Abandoning his dream of working the
daily grind until death, he was forced into the thankless life of a fiction
writer. Now an Amazon.com Best Selling horror and science fiction writer, as
well as a 2013 HFA Author of the Year Finalist, he finds a small degree of
succor in crafting despicable bad guys and then tricking readers into caring
about them.
When not creating new worlds and plotting
their destruction, he advocates for adopting rescue dogs, and politely urges
slower drivers to get out of the passing lane.
Where to find Greg:
Excerpt:
Pete had the same sad expression she used to see on her father when he had bad news to share. Maybe he felt bad for being so candid about it with her. He seemed more affected than she.
The trauma of losing her family, and now learning that so many other people died, too, hadn't hit her yet. She knew she'd be a crying wreck later, if there was time to cry. Until then she'd just keep taking in one shock after another, , filing each tragedy away to be addressed later.
"I think we better get going," she said. She had heard enough, and wanted to act. "What should we do?"
"We find your brother, first. We get him and any other survivors somewhere safe. My mother's house out on John's Island is well-stocked and remote. There's all the fish and crabs you can pull out of the river, too. We can survive out there until things settle down. What do you think?"
"Okay. That makes sense. Let's get going." She wanted to occupy herself with action to keep from thinking about how increasingly grim the future looked.
"Which one of y'all is older, you or your brother?"
Pete seemed like a decent sort of guy, but something in Lanni's head wouldn't let her give her full trust so quickly. She didn't really know him from Adam. He must have noticed her hesitation.
"You don't have to tell me anything. I just want to recognize him if I see him first," Pete said. "It's okay if you don't trust me. In fact, I'd say that's pretty smart of you. Whether you trust me or not, I only want you and your brother to be safe. As long as I have anything to say about it, I won't let anyone or anything hurt either of you. You have my word."
Describing Alex upset her. Aside from forcing her to acknowledge his illness, it made her realize she hadn't seen him since the Scout. She assumed he'd brought her here, but in truth, she didn't know.

Spotlight: Forged in Dreams and Magick by Kat Bastion with A Tour Giveaway and Blog Giveaway
THE BLOG CONTEST IS OVER. CONGRATS TO ANNE DORTHE WHO WON A COPY OF FORGED BY DREAMS AND MAGICK!!
The Book:
Isobel MacInnes wakes up in present-day California, lunches in medieval
Scotland, and by ten days’ end, falls in love with a man and his country, only
to lose them in a heart-wrenching twist of fate . . .
Found in the arms of her second soul mate . . .
Forced to balance the delicate strands of time
between two millennia . . .
Shocked by revelations rewriting the very
foundations of history . . . of
everything.
Isobel, a rising-star archaeology student, is dropped into two ancient
worlds without warning . . . or her permission. Her fiery spirit
resists the dependency thrust upon her. Amid frustration at her lack of
control, she helplessly falls in love. Twice.
She struggles to adjust to the unimaginable demands of two leaders of
men—a laird in the thirteenth-century Highlands and a Pict chieftain in a more
ancient Scotland. Isobel transforms from an academic, hell-bent on obtaining
archaeological recognition, to a woman striving to care for those she loves,
and ultimately . . . into a fearless warrior risking everything to
protect them.
Our Heroes in Forged by Dreams and
Magick:
Iain Brodie
~ No ordinary Highland laird, the towering hazel-eyed, chestnut-haired warrior
exhibits a blend of twenty-first-century and thirteenth-century wisdom, wit,
and charm. A strategist in politics, war, and family, he loves Isobel with
unparalleled passion, fearlessly expressing the depth and strength of his
emotions.
Alpha-male Iain has grown accustomed to
getting what he wants, therefore her struggles greatly with the circumstances
surrounding Isobel’s time travel, including the reluctant acceptance of having
to share his woman with another man. His difficult transformation from
overbearing to understanding, and ultimately needing to make Isobel whole,
helps us fall in love with him.
Unknown Fact: Iain first appeared in the
modern-day Highlands at age five wearing only the Brodie clan plaid and his
mother’s brooch. He was immediately adopted by an older Highland couple with no
children of their own. They celebrated the day as his only birthday, which kept
his memories of early childhood vivid. Until Iain’s return back in time with
Isobel, modern-day Iain visited their graves every “birthday” to pay tribute to
those he’d gained and those he’d lost.
Velloc ~ The
sleekly built, dark-featured, blue-tattooed Pict chieftain takes what he wants,
primal need and inherent right governing his actions. However, fierce emotion
and philosophical logic rule the man beneath, capturing Isobel’s heart before
she has a chance to safeguard it.
Attuned to his animal nature and living in
harmony with the environment, Velloc is the perfect instructor on Pict
traditions. His open-mindedness enables Isobel’s quick assimilation into their
culture and language. Impressed by her unrelenting determination, he grants her
unusual request for warrior training. But when the unexpected time comes to let
her go, his possessiveness threatens to overtake his generosity.
Unknown
Fact: When Velloc reveals to Isobel the loss of his first mate, he chooses not
to explain the circumstances of the tragedy: that she died during childbirth
along with their first child, a son. Isobel is his second chance at love and
family, a bright future for a chieftain and his tribe.

Welcome to this blog's very first Author Take Over! YAY!! I'm proud to leave Today for Christina Mercer. Hope you enjoy!
Nettles stung Lia’s flesh. She pressed her fingers against her mouth for relief. This is what I get for letting my thoughts wander. Grandma wouldn’t have been so careless while harvesting sting-leaf. She wouldn’t have let the villagers’ opinions prick at her mind, no matter how many called her mad for crafting remedies in the old ways.
Christina Mercer writes fiction for children and young adults. Her varied interests
prompted her to study creative writing, earn a degree in Accounting, become a
CPA, acquire a certificate in Herbal Studies, and take on beekeeping. She was a
semi-finalist in the 2010 Amazon Breakout Novel Award Contest and she took
Writer’s Best in Show at the 2012 SCBWI CA North/Central Regional Conference.
She enjoys life in the Sierra foothills with her husband, two sons, four dogs,
and about 100,000 honeybees.
In her Middle Grade/Young Adult Fantasy ARROW
OF THE MIST terror strikes the Celtic inspired kingdom of Nemetona when
barbed roots breach the land and poison woodsmen, including 15-year-old Lia’s
beloved father. Lia embarks on a quest to the forbidden land of Brume to gather
ingredients for the cure. She relies on her herbal wisdom and newfound gift as
a tree mage through a land of soul-hungry shades, fabled creatures, and
uncovered truths about her family.
Excerpt:
This is from the beginning of the book
Nettles stung Lia’s flesh. She pressed her fingers against her mouth for relief. This is what I get for letting my thoughts wander. Grandma wouldn’t have been so careless while harvesting sting-leaf. She wouldn’t have let the villagers’ opinions prick at her mind, no matter how many called her mad for crafting remedies in the old ways.
Koun whined and nudged Lia’s arm with his
nose.
“I’m all right, boy.” Lia gazed into her
hound’s violet eyes and then turned her attention to the friendlier mallow
plant. Its white flowers matched Koun’s coat and its leaves and roots promised
a soothing balm for the nettle’s bite. She’d make another batch of salve for
Da, too. He swore her “potions” kept his hands fit enough for hewing wood and
soft enough for holding Ma. Her ma could use a bit more mallow infusion for her
soaps, as well, and she’d take a bundle of clippings to Granda—
Her thoughts scattered as Koun shot from
the garden. Lia whirled around to the pair of horses charging up the path. She
squinted in the dusky light and recognized Da’s friend, Kenneth, on one of the
horses. Then her insides went cold. Across the other horse’s back lay Da’s limp
body.
She dropped the harvested mallow and sped
from her garden toward them. Ma’s scream shot like a bolt through her, but
Kenneth’s words, “He’s alive,” offered Lia a morsel of hope.
Kenneth carried Da into the cottage, and
Lia caught a glimpse of her father’s torn and bloodied clothing. “I’ll fetch
Granda,” she cried, and hurried to her filly.
Clad in her usual boy’s breeches and high
leather boots, Lia raced her horse down the path with her heart pounding in
rhythm to the hoof beats.
