As it is…. Her birthday party turns out to be very different than what she expected it to be. Not only does Dawn witness a crime, but without thought she stands up against the bad guys, only to find herself on the receiving end of their treatment instead.
Fate have other plans however and somehow Dawn is saved before it turns to worse, but she has no memory of that night. She has a suspicion that the new boy in school, Angelo, might had a finger in it, but no proof.
Before Dawn knows it, she is falling for Angelo, but will his secret drive her away, or make their connection stronger?
There are many wonderful things about Angels Dawn; friendship, love, paranormal elements, hurt, suspense.. I could go on. The plot is good, there are surprises in there that you didn’t see coming. Yes, the main plot is used a lot in all kinds of books, but yet Komali manages to add to it so you don’t get stuck in it.
I have to say though that there are some things that gets too repetitive in Angels Dawn, and it frustrated me. It also felt to me like Komali was struggling to find the right path, the right voice in the story, but once she truly found it… omg… Freaking amazing. The characters come alive, becomes a part of you and when the book ends you want to hurl it into the nearest wall because it just can’t end there. No way in hell.
So… If you love YA, true love, Paranormal creatures – you definitely should try out Angels Dawn. I know I don’t regret it.
