Review: Angels Dawn (Dawn Trilogy #1) by Komali da Silva
As it is…. Her birthday party turns out to be very different than what she expected it to be. Not only does Dawn witness a crime, but without thought she stands up against the bad guys, only to find herself on the receiving end of their treatment instead.

Review: White Heart of Justice (Noon Onyx #3) by Jill Archer
I fell in love with the characters although I was struggling a little to fully relate to Noon, I still comprehended her struggle and could understand what she was going through. When I finally sat down to read the sequel; Fiery Edge of Steel, I was sold. Utterly, completely lost into the amazing world that Jill has created. Reading White Heart of Justice just cemented that.

Review: The Better to See You (Transplanted Tales #2) by Kate SeRine
I am
getting addicted to this series, I absolutely love it! I have always loved
fairytales, growing up with HC Andersen, the Bothers Grimm and the Nordic
mythology here in Denmark, fairytales wasn’t in shortage, and I gobbled them up
with enjoyment. Growing older, I still enjoy reading fairytales, so Kate’s
Transplanted Tales is a series just up my alley.

Review: Thimble Down by Pete Prown
Thimble
Down is a wonderful story, especially if you’re into Tolkien and the universe
he created.
Dorro is
the Book keeper, librarian of a small town (Thimble Down) filled with
hobbits/halflings. Normally not much happens in the town, the day is usually
filled with small things and that’s just how they all like it. But then…
something does happen. A whole lot of things actually.

Review: A Tricky Game by Seraphima Bogomolova

Later that night, as she returns home from a nightclub, a shot is fired at her. At the same time, in the Ritz, her unsuspecting associate has a meeting with an elderly Swiss gentleman, Jacques Moreaux, who delivers to him a mysterious letter signed by Angela. Review: Carry Me Away by Robb Grindstaff
How do you tell a thirteen year old girl
that her time is limited here on Earth? How would you react to the news that
you probably only have one year left, maybe two? You might be lucky to extend
that into five years, but you will most likely spend the last four as a
vegetable.
What would you do? Thirteen years old, and
your life has barely started, and because of an accident, it’s already being
deemed over.

Review: Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold by Ian Reading
Kitty
Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold is the thrilling first installment in a
new series of adventure mystery stories that are one part travel, one part
history and five parts adventure. This first book of the Kitty Hawk Flying
Detective Agency Series introduces Kitty Hawk, an intrepid teenage pilot with
her own De Havilland Beaver seaplane and a nose for mystery and intrigue. A
cross between Amelia Earhart, Nancy Drew and Pippi Longstocking, Kitty is a
quirky young heroine with boundless curiosity and a knack for getting herself
into all kinds of precarious situations. After leaving her home in the western Canadian fishing village of Tofino to spend the summer in Alaska studying humpback whales Kitty finds herself caught up in an unforgettable adventure involving stolen gold, devious criminals, ghostly shipwrecks, and bone-chilling curses. Kitty's adventure begins with the lingering mystery of a sunken ship called the Clara Nevada and as the plot continues to unfold this spirited story will have armchair explorers and amateur detectives alike anxiously following every twist and turn as they are swept along through the history of the Klondike Gold Rush to a suspenseful final climatic chase across the rugged terrain of Canada's Yukon, the harsh land made famous in the stories and poems of such writers as Jack London, Robert Service and Pierre Berton. It is a riveting tale that brings to glorious life the landscape and history of Alaska's inside passage and Canada's Yukon, as Kitty is caught up in an epic mystery set against the backdrop of the scenery of the Klondike Gold Rush.

Review: Confessions of a Small Town Librarian by A. MacEwan
I was in the middle of beta reading a very
intense book, when I decided I needed a break. Since the buss around
Confessions of a Small Town Librarian had been huge and very positive, I had
(of course) bought it, but hadn’t had the chance of sitting down to read it.
Thinking it would give me a breathing room from my other read, I settled in.
I was soooo wrong. Confessions of a Small
Town Librarian didn’t give me a break from the intensity but ADDED to it.
Anna McCall is the town’s librarian,
currently going through a rough divorce (from an even rougher marriage), he
days is filled with her work, Duchess (her dog) and her best friend; Megan.
Megan is determined to bring Anna out of her shell, to make her have some fun,
make her forget about her abusive, soon-to-be ex-husband.

Review: The Curse of the Rose & A Dance for Fools by Julieanne Lynch
Hi Guys!!!
Tomorrow it's Author Take Over, and this week I have the pleasure to introduce Julieanne Lynch, author of the Rose Saga, Shadow World, and her new book coming in March; The Taken. To prepare you for tomorrow, I have reviewed The Curse of the Rose & A Dance for Fools.
The Curse of the Rose:
Just to make it clear, in case anyone
should be in doubt. Curse of the Rose is erotica. As you know, I have been
avoiding erotica in the past, mainly since I want more than just sex in the
books I read. I want a story, a plot in there as well. Julieanne delivers
everything I need and want. And then some.
Bianka is nothing more than a child when
she is chosen to be the next Rose. If she truly had known what it entailed, I’m
quite sure she would’ve run the other way as fast as she could.
Iona is the current Rose, and the one who
chooses Bianka. All Bianka know is that it is NOT an option NOT to be selected,
why, she doesn’t know. It has long been a tradition for the Townspeople in
Hollóko to lead their virgin daughters to the castle. The price is high, but
the reward is that no one else disappears during the year.

Review: His Beloved Infidel by Sharon E. Cathcart
It is closing in on Christmas, and true to
tradition, each teacher gives a gift to their colleagues. Farukh really likes
Catherine, wanted to talk to her for some time, and finds this to be a
wonderful opportunity to show her that he’s interested.
Catherine is surprised to find a gift from
Farukh, especially since she didn’t get him anything. As a thank you she
invites him for coffee, and everything rolls from there. But what happens when
two different world collide in love? Can the people they love the most accept
it?

Book Review: Embracing Hamilton by Sarah J. Carr
Embracing Hamilton is the second book in
Sarah J. Carr’s JackRabbit7 series. I received the prequel pRevealing Hamilton
from Sarah early last year, and I was hooked to her writing style. JackRabbit7
is very different from what I normally read, but I love it. Once I start one of
Sarah’s books, I have a VERY hard time letting go. There’s a reason why
pRevealing Hamilton & Revealing Hamilton made it to my Top 10 for 2013.
Seriously.

Review: Chasing the Star Garden by Melanie Karsak & Giveaway
I started reading Chasing the Star Garden
with a hope of getting my hands on something good. I wasn’t disappointed.
I am an old fan of Sherlock Holmes. I LOVE
how he pieces things together, how he follows the clues and catches the bad guy
in the end. Now, I am not comparing Chasing the Star Garden to Sherlock Holmes,
but there is a great deal of adventure, action, love, clues and chase in this
amazing book. And I loved pretty much every page.
Our main character, Lily is a young air
Jockey, with a past that would turn even your hair a shade whiter. Her past has
her running from everything, hiding in the mist of the opium, or the dense fog
of the laudanum, but it also makes her blind to things right in front of her.

Book Tour & Review: Skin Deep by Megan D.Martin
Keira’s been through hell and back, and got
the freaking t-shirt to prove she survived. Now she is scarred for life, in
more ways than one, and hides herself away from everyone by wearing thick
layers of clothes and staying in her apartment – unless she is working.
One night her friends (the only two she
has); Maryline and Darla help Keira getting her biggest wish; a perfect, slim,
and beautiful body. By using the magic of a gypsy, there’s only one, tiny hang-up.
Keira can’t have sex – ever. If she does, she will get her old body back faster
than Bambi loses his footing on the ice.
But what happens when two very lonely souls
met each other under circumstances far from ideal, both need each other, but
have a hard time forgiving their own pasts to see what’s right in front of
them?

Book Review: Brilliant Devices by Shelley Adina
I love Shelley Adina’s Magnificent Devices.
To anyone who knows me, this is no news.
And frankly, what’s not to love? A feisty
young lady, a band of young misfit boys and girls, science, steam, adventure
and just a hint of romance. I love it, hands down. Shelley has a way of
captivating me with her descriptions, her easy storytelling, her fascination
for machines and all the action and adventure she puts into her books. When I
start reading one of Shelley’s books, I can’t stop until I’ve turned the last
page in the book.
