Author Take Over: Pyxi Rose - Interview & Giveaway

Hi Guys, and welcome to this weeks Author Take Over. This time, my victim, eeerhh, guest is Pyxi Rose from CHBB.

Pyxie is the genius mind behind The Ninth Taghairm; Redemption, and I'm so lucky that she graciously accepted to answer all my questions ;-)

So PLEASE welcome Pyxi to my blog, and make sure to go by her pages and give her some love!! <3

Sabina: Hi Pyxi, and welcome to my little blog! Thank you so much for coming by, make yourself at home. Anything to drink?

P: Thanks for having me! The answer is always coffee! ;)

S: For those who might not know you, can you tell us a little about yourself?

P: I am a good ole’ Southern girl stuck in the mountains of PA. I have done almost every job known to man before deciding that I HAD to be a writer. I love animals and I have the greatest son in the whole world.  ;) I write paranormal fiction, but I am addicted to sci-fi.

S: You published The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption for Crushing Hearts Black Butterfly in June 2013. How was your road to your publishing with CHBB?

P: Enlightening. I have always known that CHBB was the pub house I wanted to be a part of. I had been a beta reader for Rue Volley for almost a year before I submitted with the lovely SJ Davis. It was the best decision I had ever made. I found so much more than a pub house in CHBB. It isn’t just a publisher, it is a true family.

S: What was your inspiration behind your book?

P: Believe it or not, Redemption started out as just a word doodle for myself. I had no intention of publishing her and it was mainly inspired by Bird Song by Florence + the Machine. I actually pay tribute to the band in the very beginning of the book. FATM is my favorite muse of all. It took me about two years to complete her and have her ready for submission. My family gave me that final push to follow it through and I am so glad they did!

S: Was there something that was harder to write in The Ninth Taghairm: Redemption?

P: For me, it was Talula’s grief over the death of her only child. Being a mother, it truly tore my heart out at just the thought of losing my son. It is every mother’s worst nightmare and it was difficult to write.

S: What has been the biggest thing on your journey so far?

P: Truthfully? Finding my pub family. I can’t stress enough how amazingly supportive they have all been during my journey. I have found myself in my writing and found irreplaceable friends within CHBB/HIP/VAMP.

S: What are you working on right now?

P: Right now I am finishing up two projects, one being book two of the Taghairm Chronicles, ‘Affliction.’ My other project is called Saving Babylon and it is a PNR that involves angels/demons and what if their roles were reversed. It also touches on the feeling of lost and anger followed by suicide. I have lost a lot of loved ones to suicide and it was therapeutic for me to get it out all on paper.

S: Can you in five words tell us what a Reader will get from opening your book?

P: Brutal honesty and raw emotion.

S: Before letting you go Pyxi, I want to thank you (again), for doing this, and I want to end the interview by giving you five quick questions. Just answer with the first that pops into your mind. :-)

Favorite color? Orange!

Favorite TV show? Orphan Black on BBC

Jeans or dress? Long skirt. ;)

Your biggest inspiration? Music and my son. J

If you could be ANY magical creature, which one would it be? Shape-shifter! It would be amazing to be able to take to the skies and fly! J

There are far worse fates than death, but that is a truth Gadin Wilde knows all too well. He had to come to terms with his immortality from a sire that relished in the kill. He had eventually grown to accept the fact he was one of the damned; a vampire, an irredeemable beast driven by blood and blood alone. That was until he met the very complicated and alluring Talula Delphina and was shown another way of existing. In a blink of an eye, his whole world changed.

Cursed with a fate worse than death, Talula is destined to watch the world die. Punished with the cruelest form of immortality, she knows all about the devastation of death and the agonizing pain of rebirth. For almost thirteen hundred years, she has relived its vicious cycle time and time again. For a crime of retribution, her soul bares the mark of immortality, but suffers it in a mortal shell.

So when the dark and sensual, Gadin began hunting her, she welcomed the prospect of being his prey. After all, there are far worse ways to die. But nothing could have prepared her for the fire he lit within her.

And as their passions grow more intense, powerful forces fight to keep them apart. Will their love be enough to overcome their fated paths? Or will the secret crime Talula committed centuries ago, be so damning that Gadin won't be able to forgive her?
