Blog Tour Review: The Tin Man by Nina Mason

Welcome to my stop in Nina Mason's blog tour for her latest release The Tin Man. So sit back and read my thoughts of her book and I hope you all will have a wonderful weekend!

The last thing Alex Buchanan, the editor-in-chief of a formidable news site, expects as he looks around the newsroom at the bodies of his editors, is that he’ll soon be teaming up with The Ball Buster to solve the crime and stay alive. Well, maybe not the last thing. The last thing he expects is to fall for her or any other woman. Because he’s The Tin Man–a suit of armor without a heart.

Or so he believes…

The Ball Buster is his private nickname for Thea Hamilton, a smart, gutsy, and insecure investigative reporter for The New York News, America’s newspaper of record. They went out once years ago–an unmitigated disaster during which she jumped all over his case about smoking.

When events force them together, they embark on an emotion-charged, high-octane quest for the truth, ending up in bed, but also in the clutches of a sociopathic corporate raider. “Zeus” is obsessed with James Bond and owns a hardcore S & M club in an old fallout shelter. Is he the killer? And, if so, what’s his motive? What he hopes to gain by torturing the journalists is clearer: the proof they’ve uncovered of a corporate takeover scheme that threatens the future of democracy. And he’ll stop at nothing to get it.

When I opened The Tin man by Nina, I had no idea what to expect. Actually, not true. I expected a great book. What I got was so much more; journalists running to find the truth, secrets buried under piles of covers, deceit and lies, fanatic people, mercenaries, ancient wounds, steel hearts, hope and love. Everything a story need, and more.
Nina delivers a master story that grabs you from first page until the very end. She holds you captive with her little clues, multiple plots, wicked bad guys and amazing main characters.
Alex Buchanan loses everything the day he steps out from his office to grab a cup of coffee. When he returns his entire staff has been killed and he’s standing face to face with the killer. With some luck he manages to escape, but only barely.
Later the same day Thea gets a call to haul ass up to  Buchanans newspaper and do a report about the shooting. Sensing there’s more than what meets the eye, both Thea and Alex begins to dig deeper into the story. Now… Will the truth come forth, or have the two journalists chewed off more than they can swallow?
Thea and Alex’s story is amazing, and I tore through the pages, I didn’t even notice how late it was. Honestly my heart was cheering for them both when they finally made small steps toward each other, I gasped when the clues started making sense, was horrified when…. Well…. That you will have to read for yourself. All I can say is that I loved every page, was captivated by the story and I absolutely loved all the secrets that Nina had put in there, some of them not making any sense at all until the very end. Amazing book written by an amazing author.
