Hi Guys!!
I have an amazing treat for you today!! I have a mini interview with the lovely Faith Marlow, and I got a chance to ask her a little about her book; Being Mrs. Dracula, and her publisher; Crushing Hearts Black Butterfly (which is my FAVORITE publisher btw).
Alright, let me tell you a little about the book first:

When Valeria’s hand was given in marriage to the handsome and powerful Count Vlad Dracula, she dreamed of happiness but instead her life was filled with longing for her absent husband, their country ravaged by war. When Vlad at last returned from the battlefield he was a changed man, an alluring and dangerous creature with a thirst for her blood…and for more wives.

For over one hundred years, tales of Count Dracula have haunted and seduced the imagination of readers worldwide. Now experience the story of Dracula from a new perspective, as told by the three women who knew him best. Discover their stories, their secrets, and find out what it would be to love and be loved by history’s most powerful vampire in Being Mrs. Dracula.

In a marriage that spans centuries, one man shared between three women, love may be eternal but happiness is not guaranteed.

Author Take Over: Joe DiCicco

Hi Guys, and welcome to this weeks Author Take Over! This week I have the pleasure of introducing Joe DiCicco. He has two new short stories out January 24, and today we're going to take a closer look at them both.
But first.... let me tell you a little about Joe:

Book Blitz: Chasing the Star Garden by Melanie Karsak

Chasing the Star Garden
The Airship Racing Chronicles I

Genre: Steampunk Romance, Alternative History
Novel description:
An opium-addicted beauty.
An infamous poet living in self-imposed exile.
An ancient treasure about to fall into the wrong hands.
Melanie Karsak’s “Chasing the Star Garden” takes the reader on an exciting adventure from the gritty opium dens of gaslamp London to the gem colored waters of the ancient world, introducing us to Lily Stargazer, a loveable but reckless airship racer with a famous lover and a shattered past.
Lily Stargazer is having a bad day. She just lost the London leg of the 1823 Airship Grand Prix. To top it off, a harlequin fleeing from constables shoved a kaleidoscope down her pants, told her to fly to Venice, then threw himself from her airship tower. What’s a girl to do? For Lily, the answer is easy: drink absinthe and smoke opium.
Lily’s lover, Lord Byron, encourages her to make the trip to Venice. Lily soon finds herself at the heart of an ancient mystery which has her running from her past and chasing true love and the stars along the way.

Review: Confessions of a Small Town Librarian by A. MacEwan

I was in the middle of beta reading a very intense book, when I decided I needed a break. Since the buss around Confessions of a Small Town Librarian had been huge and very positive, I had (of course) bought it, but hadn’t had the chance of sitting down to read it. Thinking it would give me a breathing room from my other read, I settled in.

I was soooo wrong. Confessions of a Small Town Librarian didn’t give me a break from the intensity but ADDED to it.

Anna McCall is the town’s librarian, currently going through a rough divorce (from an even rougher marriage), he days is filled with her work, Duchess (her dog) and her best friend; Megan. Megan is determined to bring Anna out of her shell, to make her have some fun, make her forget about her abusive, soon-to-be ex-husband.

Release Day Review: Musings of a Hideous Mind Vol 3 by Alex Laybourne

The Bus Driver:

A story of a bus driver, who absolutely DON’T want to be where he is. He is tired of all the snotty, greasy kids, convinced they’re spawn from the devil himself. In reality he doesn’t even want to be driving a bus, but the bills have to be paid, right? But what happens when an ordinary Wednesday turns into a day no one will ever forget?

I was surprised by the very explicit details that Alex put into this story. I could smell everything he described, could feel the heat and the terror running through my veins.

Amazing short story, and if this is a taste of what the rest of the book will be like, I am certainly looking forward to it!!

The Interrogation:

It is a “classic” tale of Good Cop versus Bad Cop, with a great twist. I have to say, I started giggling when I read the last bit, I didn’t quite see that coming. Well played Alex, well played! :-)

Review: The Curse of the Rose & A Dance for Fools by Julieanne Lynch

Hi Guys!!!
Tomorrow it's Author Take Over, and this week I have the pleasure to introduce Julieanne Lynch, author of the Rose Saga, Shadow World, and her new book coming in March; The Taken. To prepare you for tomorrow, I have reviewed The Curse of the Rose & A Dance for Fools.

The Curse of the Rose:
Just to make it clear, in case anyone should be in doubt. Curse of the Rose is erotica. As you know, I have been avoiding erotica in the past, mainly since I want more than just sex in the books I read. I want a story, a plot in there as well. Julieanne delivers everything I need and want. And then some.
Bianka is nothing more than a child when she is chosen to be the next Rose. If she truly had known what it entailed, I’m quite sure she would’ve run the other way as fast as she could.
Iona is the current Rose, and the one who chooses Bianka. All Bianka know is that it is NOT an option NOT to be selected, why, she doesn’t know. It has long been a tradition for the Townspeople in HollĆ³ko to lead their virgin daughters to the castle. The price is high, but the reward is that no one else disappears during the year.

Review: His Beloved Infidel by Sharon E. Cathcart

It is closing in on Christmas, and true to tradition, each teacher gives a gift to their colleagues. Farukh really likes Catherine, wanted to talk to her for some time, and finds this to be a wonderful opportunity to show her that he’s interested.

Catherine is surprised to find a gift from Farukh, especially since she didn’t get him anything. As a thank you she invites him for coffee, and everything rolls from there. But what happens when two different world collide in love? Can the people they love the most accept it?

Release Day Review: The Cogs in Time - an anthology by CHBB Publishing

The Cogs in Time by Catherine Stovall

A beautiful poem by Catherine to set off this anthology.

The Properties of Mercury by Robert Craven

What do you do when you have discovered something amazing? When your theory is correct, and it can do wonders? And what if your invention is wanted by others? One group want’s to destroy it, another to use it, and not for good.
Devereux discovered the hidden qualities of mercury and when people start coming after him and his experiments, he calls out to Wentworth for help.

This short story was well written, I liked the twist with the special experiment, and the end was good. It wasn’t my favorite in this anthology though, but still very well written.

Book Review: Embracing Hamilton by Sarah J. Carr

Embracing Hamilton is the second book in Sarah J. Carr’s JackRabbit7 series. I received the prequel pRevealing Hamilton from Sarah early last year, and I was hooked to her writing style. JackRabbit7 is very different from what I normally read, but I love it. Once I start one of Sarah’s books, I have a VERY hard time letting go. There’s a reason why pRevealing Hamilton & Revealing Hamilton made it to my Top 10 for 2013. Seriously.

Goodbye to 2013, Hello to 2014 (Giveaway)

CLOSED
Today it’s the first day in a new year. And time for me to look back at 2013, saying goodbye to the past year, and embrace the new one.

So, what happened blog wise for me in 2013? A lot actually. I left Dangerous Romance in August, and started my own blog – the one you’re at right now. I learned a lot from Laurie, and we’re still friends, but it was time for me to move on, to try my own wings.
The amazing design I have now is due to Ren from R&R Designs. I love it, and was VERY excited to have it up and running before December.
Another friend helped me start Sabina’s Adventures In Reading; Penny from The Library at the END of the Universe, she even made the initial design for me. Not to mention all the times she listened to me when I was asking how I did this or that, since I wasn't used to working with Blogger. Or when I needed a shoulder to lean on in general. Thank you My Dear for being there for me, even when you where going through your own personal hell.
