Release Day Review: Spelled (Casted #2) by Sonya Loveday

Today it's Release day for the much anticipated sequel to Casted by Sonya Loveday. Casted was an amazing read, and I know you will all enjoy Spelled as well. Make sure to drop by Sonya and wish her a Happy Release Day, or even better - go by her FB Party TODAY. Have fun, and make sure to send her a hug from me!

Spelled is the sequel to Casted (and you all know how much I LOVE Casted!!) I am indeed a VERY lucky girl in so many ways, one of them being a beta reader for Sonya – which means I got to read this very, very, VERY early!!! *evil grin*

I was nervous about reading Spelled, because when Casted was that good – how could she make a sequel that would live up to the emotional wreck from the first one? Never fear my friends. Although Spelled isn’t the same emotional rollercoaster as Casted, it is absolutely PACKED with secrets, revelations, mayhem, magic and mystery.

Spelled takes off right where Casted ended and you drop straight into the story, it feels like you’ve never been gone.

Elinor might be out of Jades head, but she isn’t done with her yet. But she has to get in line, because Jade’s grandfather has a bigger beef to hatch out, and he has set his sights not only on Jade but his stepson; Edge as well.

The lines are drawn, the battle is gearing up, but not everything is as it seems, and the tables are being turned on Jade and her friends more than once. Will Jade find the solution before it’s too late?

Spelled takes the story of Jade, Edge and their fight against the Triad several steps further, and I was drawn into the story. So much is happening in Spelled, Jade loses her memory due to a spell casted by her grandfather. But she isn’t the only one affected. Edge got the direct hit as well, and he fared worse than Jade. Both of them are locked tight up in the compound, and Jade has to trust herself and her only ally to get all of them safely out again. Unfortunately, things just don’t work out the way they’re supposed to do, and when the rules changes, so does the game.

I truly don’t want to spoil it to anyone. I can guarantee that not only will your questions from Casted be answered, but you will certainly get a whole new bunch of them along the way. I love a good puzzle.

Sonya creates a story like no other.  She gave me everything I wanted, and more. Spelled isn’t as fast paced and doesn’t give you the same emotional overdose that Casted did, but gosh, what an amazing book. If you have read Casted and loved it, you’re in for a good ride. Didn’t read Casted? What are you waiting for? *Jeez, seriously, you’re SO behind!!*

Releasing Elinor from the spell book was only the beginning for Jade.

When a surprise visit from Lorenzo sets off a downward spiral of events, Jade’s ripped from the confines of Edge’s home and plunged into the madness of the Triad.

Confused by the turn of events, Jade is only sure of four things:

My name is Jade Kinsley.
I’m 20 years old.
I’m an Enforcer for the Triad.
And I have a debt to settle with Original Coven.

Will Jade be able to break through the spell her Grandfather put on her and remember who she is, or will she become just another piece in Lorenzo’s game?

Sonya Loveday, first and foremost is a reader, an avid one. It is of that love that brought her to the realization that this was the answer to the nagging persistent feeling that ‘there’s got to be something more’.
The dream came alive in 2009 when she purchased her laptop and began the tedious step of becoming a published author.
When she’s not reading, she’s writing. When she’s not writing, she’s reading. And when she’s not doing either of those things she’s sleeping, shuttling her children back and forth to school, letting the dogs and cats in and out of the house for the umpteenth time in the last hour and dreaming of a clean house.
