It’s been a while since I’ve read a book.
Now don’t get me wrong, I still read a lot but it’s mostly beta reads, and for
editing. As much as I enjoy helping out my friends by beta reading, it also
takes a lot to do it. You read it in a different way. So sitting down to read
If Ever I Fall was a wonderful experience, I could read it from A to Z and
remembered how fun it was to get lost in a book again.
There's a giveaway aaaaallll the way down, one copy of If I Ever Fall is up for grabs :-)
I’ll try and leave out spoilers from
previous books as well.
If Ever I Fall is Aiden’s story. After
everything that happened, Robert de Fleur is on Cole Enterprises' shit list.
Aiden, Greg and Nadia have set up an
undercover office under a church in Scotland. Why? Well, de Fleur’s only family
lives there.
Aiden’s mission is to get closer to the
family without giving himself away. The best solution? Get a job in the
Grounded Bean, Brenda’s (De Fleur’s sister) coffee shop.
Everything is going quietly right until
Aiden, Maggie’s niece shows up. She’s home after been traveling for a while and
with her all kinds of trouble follows.
Aiden now have to fight against the
emotions Airen is awakening inside of him and his will to finish the mission
he’s on.
In this book we also meet our old friends;
Ace, Oliver, Eli, Josh, Grant and Nadia. Seeing some of the Six again is always
wonderful, even though their comeback in this one is brief compared to The End
Note.
What hit me the most with If Ever I Fall
are the new characters we met; Airen and her family, her aunt Brenda and her
mother. I love how Sonya have incorporated the Scottish dialect into her story.
I loved reading this book. I fell in love
with Aiden and Airen and their struggle. Aiden not wanting to drag Airen into
his life because he want her safe, Airen keeping her family’s secret close to
her heart and afraid of pulling Aiden into her life, afraid of being hurt
again.
As always Sonya manages to drag you into
the story without you realizing it, and this one beat my record for when I got
hooked on a book.
3 %.
That’s all it took before I was so deep
into the story that I forgot everything around me. I do mean everything.
If Ever I Fall have it all; action,
romance, secrets, Scottish brogue, suspense and twists. Every page made me want
to read more, to learn more and some of the pieces of the puzzle didn’t fall
into place until the end. Which is just awesome, I might add. Some of the stuff
we’re told about in the beginning, we get the answers at the very end
indirectly.
It was amazing. My heart was in my throat,
I laughed and I cried.
Sonya has this special gift when she writes
books. First of all, she’s amazing at making everyone feel real to you, like
you could bump into them down the road, but she has something else. Something
unique. Every time I’m done reading one of her books, I want to hug her and I
want to wring her neck. She puts my heart through a shredder and when she’s
done, she’s there with the glue to help you put it all together.
Each book has touched me in a different
way, have fitted into my life in different ways and each time she has made me
cry only to come out stronger on the other side. Sonya writes amazing stories,
but more than that, she brings them to life. She tosses you into an emotional
rollercoaster and you will be asking for more once you get off the ride.
Sonya Loveday, first and foremost is a reader, an avid one. It is of that love that brought her to purchasing her first laptop in 2009, and publishing her first novel, Casted, in 2013.
In early 2014, Sonya expanded Casted and then went on to publish Spelled, the sequel to Casted in March, wrapping up the series, and her stint with Paranormal Romance. For now.
Not long after the completion to the Casted Series, Sonya tried her hand at New Adult/Coming of Age, a sub-genre of Contemporary Romance. Thusly, the Six were born with The Summer I Fell, which released at the end of July 2014. The demand from readers was instantaneously, which brought about End Note, the second book of the series in December 2014.
To date, Sonya lives in Central Florida with her husband, and two kids, and is currently working on the fourth book of the Six Series and a super secret project with fellow author Candace Knoebel. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming news on Sonya's website!
